Turn off the ignition, and wait. Yes, wait. Don’t lift the hood immediately or remove your radiator cap. Let the vehicle cool down first. Are you low on our out of coolant? It may need refilled but you also need to check your hoses for breaks, tears, leaks.

When driving, remember to check your temperature gauge now and again. And keep a SAFETY KIT in your vehicle at all times. Check fluids and hoses regularly to avoid overheating. As we here in South Florida all know…TRAFFIC JAMS HAPPEN. !

In the hottest months of the year, keeping fluids full and checking tires are very important. When you get an oil change, ask for a Safety Check as well. And remember to take it easy on wet roads. You can’t always tell how deep the water is on the road surface, and rainy days lead to an increase in accidents and injuries.
