Homestead Exemptions
Some homeowners are not aware that if voters pass a new amendment to our state’s property tax law, they could save a lot of money come 2019. A few months ago, the Florida Senate approved a proposed homestead amendment, giving homeowners an ADDITIONAL $25,000 in property tax exemption (raising it from $50,000 to $75,000). This amendment was proposed following recession concerns and was based on a desire to put more money in the pockets of Florida residents. You’ll see this proposed tax amendment on your voter ballot in November of 2018.
